Ashok Leyland Stock Rises 2% on ₹4.95 Interim Dividend News

In the opening trade on the BSE, Ashok Leyland shares increased by up to 2.04% to ₹169.95 per share.

In a March 25 stock exchange filing, Ashok Leyland announced an interim dividend of ₹4.95/- per equity share of Re 1/- for the fiscal year 2023-24.

The record date for determining which members are eligible to receive the interim dividend is Wednesday, April 3, 2024. The interim dividend will be paid on or before April 23, 2024, the company stated.

According to the T+1 settlement cycle, Ashok Leyland’s shares will trade ex-dividend on the record date, April 3. The ex-dividend date is the day when the stock does not carry the value of the next dividend payment.

In 2023, the automobile major paid a dividend of ₹2.60 per share, while in 2022, it paid Re 1.

Ashok Leyland reported a standalone net profit of ₹580 crore in the December 2023 quarter, up 60.5% from ₹361.34 crore in the previous year period.

In Q3FY24, the Hinduja group commercial vehicle maker’s standalone revenue increased by 2.7% to ₹9,273 crore from ₹9,029.7 crore YoY.

The Ashok Leyland share price has fallen by more than 8% this year. Ashok Leyland shares have increased by more than 20% over the last year.

At 9:20 am, Ashok Leyland shares were trading 0.87% higher at ₹168.00 per share on the BSE.
